Finally a moment........The experience of purchasing from China was very difficult. As discussed in the meeting, yes did not mean yes. One of our face to face meetings became an exchange of cultural explanations. Both parties left with a greater understanding of the concept of a US "lie" vs a Chinese "yes" but there were still many bumps in the road in terms of receiving material in spec, hiring and firing a Chinese engineer (double dipping in terms of time for our project and time for another company's project) and finally, the same items with the same specs ending up in the US market. It is extremely important to spell out every specification, testing method (we had to send gauges to China to test product) and what is expected in a sampling report. For those of you who get the Crain publication "Plastic News" , check out page 6 in the Viewpoint section called "Return the favor by exporting to China" Regards........Lori
